The IT System Admin & Security Senior Specialist’s goal is to help manage and improve our infrastructure and enterprise security posture. He/she is responsible for managing and administering client and server operating systems in Microsoft environment.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Maintain IT infrastructure, including operating systems in a Microsoft environment, security tools and servers, with excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience
- Configuration and management of ESX virtualization systems
- Perform server administration tasks and research event-log warnings and errors
- Assist the Service Desk with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backup
- Protect all company data, particularly sensitive information, from both internal and external threats by designing broad defenses against would-be intruders
- Take the lead in day-to-day monitoring for unusual activities, implement defensive protocols, and report incidents
- Document procedures and activities performed
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and IT Security.
Profile:
- Expertise in configuring and managing switches, firewalls, and EDR solution
- Knowledge of the Azure world and ability to use it to deploy infrastructure solutions
- Solid cybersecurity skills, scripting skills in one or more languages such as PowerShell, Python or .NET.
- Advanced experience in managing Microsoft 365 and ability to administer it in a hybrid environment.
- Passion for infrastructure and security. Proactivity in identifying areas for improvement of systems and processes and ability to promote innovative ideas.
- Knowledge of Linux and possession of networking certifications are considered a plus.
- Team spirit and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Positive attitude and problem-solving mindset, stress resilience and ability to handle pressure situations.
- Ability to work with incomplete or missing information in dynamic contexts.
- Effective communication skills with stakeholders and ability to understand their needs.
- Ability to manage and organize own work, prioritizing tasks according to deadlines.
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent in English both written and spoken, knowledge of German is considered an advantage
