Position Overview
We're looking for a curious, versatile 3D Computer Graphics Engineer to join our 3D AI team. You'll work across the graphics and appearance stack including physically-based and differentiable rendering, neural material representations, and simulation. This role is bridging graphics research and production and ideal for someone who thrives on hard rendering and appearance problems and wants to push the boundaries of our 3D offering. This full-time role is located on-site at our office in Brixen/Bressanone, Italy.
Main Responsibilities
- Build physically-based differentiable rendering pipelines for appearance and material estimation
- Design neural material models and learned texture/material representations (e.g. neural texture compression, generative material synthesis)
- Develop the simulation stack for our physically based 3D assets
- Build production-grade material and shading pipelines
- Integrate classical rendering techniques with AI methods in production
- Prototype fast and ship production-ready code
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in computer graphics
- Proven track record in one these fields: Computer Graphics, ML Computer Vision
- Solid understanding of physically-based rendering principles and graphics pipelines
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
- Ability to move fluidly between research prototyping and production code
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with neural materials, texture representations, neural texture compression or neural BRDFs
- Hands-on experience with differentiable rendering frameworks (Mitsuba 3, nvdiffrast, PyTorch3D)
- Experience with USD/MaterialX, Unreal, or real-time rendering pipelines
- Familiarity with robotic simulation frameworks (Omniverse, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo)
- CUDA or GPU-accelerated rendering/shading pipelines
- Familiarity with appearance capture or material scanning workflows
